Fort de Gagel
Welcome to Fort de Gagel! The most beautiful new event venue on the outskirts of the city of Utrecht. The fort is part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021, however, the fort has never been given a destination. The fort has never been in use and after 170 years, we started restoration over a year ago.
Cloud based total system
In the past, we have worked with many different systems. All separate systems that did not communicate with each other. Making quotations took a long time and a lot of work was duplicated. We were looking for a system that was cloud-based and a “one-stop shop. A total system.
We found this in Smart Event Manager. We can now create quotes super fast, even when we’re not at a dedicated computer. We work in the cloud and via mobile we create a quote as quickly as via desktop or tablet. Ideal. The system works super user-friendly, we never experience bugs and is super fast. In addition, in daily use, the system is just as pleasant as the rear design. Everything is in there. The invoicing works super nice and the invoices are formatted in our house style. It links to our accounting package and automatically runs batches to link and process invoices and payments.
In addition to being an event venue, we are also a restaurant. The “normal” table reservations are made in Smart Event Manager and we implemented the tool in the website. Exactly in our house style and come in the complete day view. Joost has been super supportive throughout the entire process from purchasing Smart Event Manager to launch and always responds super quickly and with concrete solutions.
Our sales department has found the setup very enjoyable due to the “learning by doing” principle. The system is explained while being set up right away. Joost has a super fine “don’t nag but solve” mentality and is easily accessible. In addition, the support line works super pleasant and everyone is as helpful as our account manager. We requested specific layouts for scripts and reservation lists. Within one day, they were ready to be implemented.
