Fort de Gagel

Welcome to Fort de Gagel! The most beautiful new event venue on the outskirts of the city of Utrecht. The fort is part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021, however, the fort has never been given a destination. The fort has never been in use and after 170 years, we started restoration over a year ago.

Cloud-based all-in-one system

In the past, we worked with many different systems. All separate systems that did not communicate with each other. Creating quotes took a long time and much of the work was duplicated. We were looking for a cloud-based, all-in-one solution. A total system.

We found this in Smart Event Manager. We can now create quotes super quickly, even when we are not behind a specific computer. Since we work in the cloud, we can generate quotes just as easily via mobile as we can on a desktop or tablet. It’s ideal. The system is extremely user-friendly, we never encounter bugs, and it runs very smoothly. Additionally, the system is just as pleasant to use on a day-to-day basis as it is to configure in the backend. Everything is included. The invoicing process is seamless, and invoices are generated in our own house style. There’s an integration with our accounting software, and automatic batches link and process invoices and payments efficiently.

Besides being an event venue, we also run a restaurant. The ‘regular’ table reservations are made in Smart Event Manager, and we have integrated the tool into our website. Exactly in our corporate style and included in the complete daily overview. From the purchase of Smart Event Manager to the launch, Joost supported us every step of the way, always responding quickly and with concrete solutions.

Our sales department really appreciated the “learning by doing” approach during the setup. The system was explained while being configured at the same time, which made the process very efficient. Joost has a great “no-nonsense, solution-focused” mentality and is always easy to reach. The support team is equally helpful and professional, just like our account manager.

We also requested specific layouts for our run sheets and reservation lists, and within a day, they were ready for implementation.
